Winter Steelhead Wrap Up

The Winter Steelhead season came to end for me in March. It played out to be much like I had expected. The fishing was challenging in the beginning but picked up in mid season and towards the end. The Eel River was fishable through out most of the season due to lack of rain which was nice because its close to home although I would not have minded more precipitation this winter. All in all I had a great season. On the tough days we made the most of it by never giving up and our persistence almost always paid off. On the days when the fishing was good we got to relax a little more and take in our surroundings rather than constantly focussing on every detail of our presentation.
